International

Jake is taking his first international business trip. He will be in the Philippines from the 12-18 and then in India on the 19. He just got promoted as trainer for the company's international offices. Boo yah boyfriend! So proud. Hope you have fun. 

That means that all of you (or any of you) should come visit me because I will be very very lonely. 

Headboard

***I found some pillow cases at TJ Maxx the other day. Here is the final product.

Jake and I finished making our headboard this weekend. It turned out quite nice. Total cost was 45 dollars. Jake picked out the fabric from Joanns for 3 bucks a yard!
The colors in the photos are really weird but the fabric is a gray/brown. Now I need to find a panel cover for our bed and fabric for pillow cases.

After nailing in the first 10 upholstery nails we decided against the second row.
*Has anyone used upholstery nails before? Is there a better way than just hand nailing them? They are seriously so difficult.

Too much of a good thing.

I think I am going to have stop searching this song out on my ipod before I start hating it, but right now I can't get enough.

Mora Camp (La Push)

At the beginning of the summer we went camping with the Recklings to the coast. We got to ride the ferry across Puget Sound and then drove to the coast. I love living in WA and getting to ride ferries as a means of travel.


Carrie is an amazing photographer and gracefully/accidentally let her camera slide along her wrist as she took the photo and this is what magically turned out.

Then we tried it on purpose and got some cool shots.

Highlight of the trip. I wish I would have read the Twilight series before we went camping (I just read the three this last week- why did I wait so long??????).


I need to go back so that these pictures have the full effect.

Eddie Vedder Not Worth $75

Last year his solo shows were $65. I was offended. Now he seems to think its ok to charge $75 when he's never even released a real solo album and the Into The Wild Soundtrack was only marginal. Screw you E.V.

Speechless

Jake here. If you haven't seen this, you've probably at least heard of it. I'm posting this because I've decided that Robyn (see 5/13 post) was only the 2nd worst performance of the century.

New Weezer Album

Jake here. It's been quite a while since I posted and I don't have much to say now. I just wanted to say a couple of things about Weezer's new album.

1. It sucks. Horribly.
2. Rivers Cuomo looks like an idiot.
3. This entire album reminds me of Kenny Loggins. Not good.

I haven't loved a Weezer album for years. Blue and Pinkerton were both amazing. Green was ok. It had a couple of good songs and some unmemorable stuff. I liked Maladroit but I think I may be alone on this. Make believe was good the first time I heard it but it failed to ever capture my attention again. This new Red Album though is the first time Weezer has released something which I hate. And its sad because I'll bet the one album I've listened to more than anything else ever was their first. Way to go Weezer. You lost me and I'll never respect you again.

On a good note, I've been loving Ratatat lately.
