SEW WHAT?

Guess who has themselves a little ole' ETSY shop? You got it, me!!! The name of my vendor is "SEW WHAT?" For two reasons, one Jake gave me the idea and second there is a funny story attached. I was a sassy teenager and one day  my mother and I were fighting and she told me I was grounded and my punishment would be that I would have to sew for her. "Sew What!?" I replied. My mom go so mad at me and started yelling because she thought I had said "So What!?" I then explained I had really just wondered what she was going to make sew. That is where my love of sewing began.

Anyway, here she is:

Just in time for Mother's Day (May 11) so I am going to start with a special. If you order an apron before Mother's Day write me a comment {through my ETSY account the info will show up when you purchase an apron}  and I will send a matching dish towel with your apron!
Thanks for the encouragement and enjoy!

Happenings

This is what we have been up to lately.
Last weekend was beautiful (a whopping 70 degrees). We enjoyed Saturday with ice cream on the Kirkland waterfront.

Then this weekend happened.
Snow? In April? Yes. Horrible. 3 Times.

And we bought this awesome coach off Craigslist.

We did not realize it was a duck pond couch until looking at this photo.

Busy Bee

I have been really busy with school and extra activities filling my schedule. Here are some pictures of the aprons I sewed for our wards girls camp auction. {By the way the ward raised over $3,000 with a silent and live auction. Unbelievable.}
{I am thinking about starting an ETSY shop. Do you think my little aprons (and other creations) could hold their own?}

Some albums have REAL problems...

and this is one of them. Sia. some people have REAL problems. This album was boring. I had high expectations seeing it plastered all over iTunes and Starbucks but I was so not at all impressed. It was not horrible but all in all not a fan.

{My little sister from ages birth to 9 years old had this identical hair cut and color. When we would go on road trips my sister would color herself literally from head to toe. Very similar to this picture. My sister was the caboose and my mom was a little lax when she came along. Anything to self entertain...}

Indiana Jones

Jake here. And the new Indiana Jones will be soon. I have to say that it's going to suck slash be awesome. And most likely will be filled with jokes about how old Harrison Ford is. Had they been able to get Sean Connery back it would have made Ford look a little younger. Here's a nice picture of Shia LaBeouf giving Cate Blanchett a well deserved punch in the face. Now Shia LaDouche just needs one. I'm sure I'll be in line opening night.

On an unrelated note, here's Calexico doing Alone Again Or.

Jake here. Today I bought tickets to see Radiohead. It's not until August but I'm stoked. I'll be going with my bros. Have I ever commented on them before?

The Memory Keepers Daugther

This was a great read. I highly recommend it. Just from reading the book jacket you can pretty much guess how it is going to unravel. Although it was quite predictable there was definitely some extra pieces to the story that liven it up and make it a little more interesting.

The whole time I was reading I was wanting to watch the movie. Unbeknown est to me they have actually now made a movie and it is showing on Lifetime this Saturday at 9/8pm central.

Look Who's Not Talking So Well

You know your career has gone downhill when you star in a made for TV movie (Profoundly Normal) about two mentally handicap people falling in love.
{Sorry but this made me laugh so hard- not the story- but who is in it.}

Valley of the Moon

I went on a short hike yesterday morning. The top over looks my hometown Sonoma Valley.

Hello Blogosphere

My trip to California was wonderful and needed. I did not realize how much I miss the sun and its warmth. While I was there I tailored my sisters prom dress and also butchered her bangs. I have some before and after pictures from the dress but not from the bangs. She did not even get mad at me. I have the best little sister.

Isn't my sister a babe? I added the gathering on the top, sides, cut the bottom and I needed my mama's special touch for the strappy sleeves.
