See this movie, Juno. I became a fan of Arrested Devolpment 4 years ago when I was sitting in a swamp hole in Hawaii and it has forever brightened my life. Michael Cera (George Micheal Bluth) and Jason Bateman (Michael Bluth) are an amazing duo. I CAN NOT wait to see this film. This has a Saved vibe to it. I am a huge fan of Saved even if it is a little blasphemous. Anyway, blah blah blah, enjoy the trailor.

I've Got To
Mustard Poop

Yes folks this photo is of poop not of mustard. Today while changing my 5 day old nephew he decided to projectile poop while I was lifting his infant legs to wipe his rear. The total length was 3 feet. He proceeded to pee staright up all over the rest of the coach and continuing to pee on the top of his head and face. He was not phased at all. Somehow we both managed to get out of the situation clean...funny how that works.

SUNDANCE
My best friend Heather is a massage therapist at the Spa at Sundance Resort. She is so amazing and this is just one of her talents. For my brithday Heather gave me a free massage and body treatment. Score! I used them last Wed. and had the time of my life. I have had 1 massage in my life and it was when I was 16 and it was a sports massage. This was a luxury. I felt like an elitist. I got the hot stone massage and sage and sweatgrass ritual body treatment. The spa is set up to be close to nature and has the cabin feel. I got to have mud lathered on from the Great Salt Lake, got massaged literally from head to toe, waddled like a baby in heated blankets, and warm black stones placed on my back to help with my "balance". It was such a treat. Thank you so much Heather. I highly recommend anyone to enjoy the luxury I did.

Welcome to earth...
My brother and sister-in-law had their first baby yesterday. His name is Elias Seth Smith and he was born at 7:10 pm and weighs 7 lbs 10 oz and is 19 in. long. He is so very precious and it was so cool to meet him yesterday. Jake and I only live about 1 min from the hospital in Provo so we got to see a lot of the action (not all thankfully). New born babies are so radical. Elias is my first blood nephew. We are so stoked to have him in the world. Congrats Sethy and Rox.

The Stay On Targets

Jake here. My little brother Zach has a band called The Stay On Targets. Check em out because they're awesome. They'll be taking a two year hiatus for an undisclosed reason. But hopefully they'll get back together and make it big.

Band Of Annuals

Jake here. Last weekend Wyatt was in town and we went to see Jonah's band Neon Trees. I blogged about them a couple of days ago. We also saw this other rad band called Band Of Annuals. They're sort of an Indie Rock/Country/Folk band. I'm not usually fond or supportive of Country music but these guys are good.

Little Star
I created a play list for the baby shower today. I saw a great play list from Blueprint and they were some great new baby tracks. I found the Stina Nordenstam and remembered how much I used to love this song, years ago. I thought it fit the mood for the shower perfectly. The Blueprint play list recommended the Madonna version which is also pretty good.
Sorry the videos are a little ghetto.
Stork
My sister-in-law Roxana is have a little boy in about 2 weeks. My sister-in-law Nicole, who lives in Boston, is have a baby girl in about 1/1/2 months. I have been helping Roxana get some stuff ready for the baby. We had a baby shower today for her and last week I helped her sew a crib pad. This is how the crib pad turned out.
My friend Heather puts on great gatherings with delicious food. She gave me all the ideas that I used. I made fruit pizza, fruit with a yummy orange dip, pinwheels and asparagus wrapped with prosciutto.
Here is the recipe for the asparagus wraps:
1 pound asparagus (about 19 stalks), trimmed
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 to 8 paper-thin slices prosciutto, halved lengthwise
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Snap the dry stem ends off of each asparagus and place on a heavy baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and toss. Roast until the asparagus is tender, about 15 minutes. Cool completely.
Wrap each asparagus with 1 piece (about 1/2 a slice) of prosciutto, exposing tips. Arrange on a platter and serve at room temperature.
RIGHTEOUS
Jake brought home his iPod from work with so much good music. Those MAC nerds know what to listen to. He brought home Bishop Allen and I can not get enough! I have heard Choose Again before but Click Click Click stole my earheart. I hope you enjoy!
I think it is cool that they don't even have a real music video.

Emme Packer

Jake here. So my buddy Jonah plays in the band for this girl Emme Packer. A while ago he had me design the above banner and I just checked out her profile and she's had over 100,000 plays on the music on her MySpace page. It's weird because this random guy came into the store and knew exactly who I was and said he was loving the banner I made. Check out Jonah's other band Neon Trees.

Facts 5
I was tagged so here we go.
1. I was raised in the heart of wine country in northern California in a small town named Sonoma. It is a lovely place and I miss it although I would never want to live there for a long period of time again. It is quaint and if you ever get a chance to visit I highly recommend it.
2. I have 4 older brothers and 1 baby sister. Mounce David (Monti), Tyler Roland, Micah Teancum, Mosiah Seth and Kendall Jade and me Amber Joi. I was named after my mom and that is why I go by AJ.
3. I played volleyball for BYU Hawaii in 2003 and UVSC in 2004. I started playing volleyball when I was 12. I miss playing.
4. I have worked at CPA Financial (office slave), Mary's Pizza Shack (my favorite family restaurant in Sonoma) as a salad girl, The Sign of The Bear (William's and Sonoma original located in Sonoma's town square), The Seasider (BYUH's snackbar), The Testing Center (BYUH's testing center), Sunset Beach Elementary in the SPED pre-school, Kainalu Elementary in the kindergarten class, Provo School district and The Tutoring Connection. I was also a nanny for the Havleck's(CA), Antoilini's (HI) and the McGill's (HI).
5. I was lactosentolerant for 5 years and then it just went away. It came on one day and then left one day. Lactaid Ultra was my best friend for those years. I traded my loactose problem for a wicked allergy problem that has no specific allergen.

Perma Sub
AJ here (ha).I got a permanent substitute job that started the end of Oct. and goes until the end of Nov. right before we move. I have a 7/8 Behavior Unit. At first I really enjoyed it but I am sick of the students' crap and their laziness. Any suggestion?
This is how I feel about my students right now.
Look At This Dog

Jake here. Look at this dog. It's owner must love it very much because as near as I can tell it's not lost. I laughed so hard I cried when I read this. Just imagine some guy walking around his neighborhood posting these flyers. Awesome. Here's the link to the original if you're interested. I had to do some minor editing.
Super Mario Guitar Guy
Jake here. I generally try to avoid slander or negative speech about others, but I couldn't help myself this time. The above guy, who appears to be pubically mature, decided it would be a good time to dress up as Mario, videotape himself playing the Mario Bros theme song, and upload it to YouTube. Enjoy.

A Nice Day In Provo Canyon
Cinnamon Rolls
I made cinnamon rolls this weekend with a copycat Cinnabon recipe. I thought they turned out nicely and were toped with a light whipped cream cheese frosting.
1 C. whole milk
1/2 C. butter, melted
1/4 oz. yeast
1/4 C. warm water
1 egg (room temperature)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 C. sugar
41/2 C. flour
1/2 C. butter, softened
1 C. brown sugar, packed
5 Tbsp. cinnamon
4 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
1/2 C. butter, room temp.
1 3/4 C. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Heat milk and butter and cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine with milk mixture, egg, and vanilla. Add salt, sugar and flour. Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double. Punch down and roll out to a thin dough, 15x24 inches. Spread dough with softened butter;mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over butter. Starting at the far edge, roll up dough tightly. Seal edges and cut dough into 1 1/2 inch slices. Place rolls with room to rise in greased baking pans. When double, bake at 350 until slightly golden. Remove from oven and frost. Beat cream cheese, butter, powedered sugar and vanilla till smooth and airy.
(This is before they were frosted. I love our gas stove and oven.)
Stomach Ache
Late last night I got a stomach ache and really wanted a Gatorade. So Jake and I got dressed and hopped in the car to hit up Chevron. This was my outfit...I am classy.
Jake and I did not have a blanket for our bed so we used a sleeping bag, some blankets and worm pajamas. One night we ended up accidentally wearing monochrome outfits.
Oh and yes this could also be a before and after shot of my new hair color. I will share more later.
Will It Blend?
Jake here. Today the above pictured scientist came into the store and I installed an invisible shield on his iPhone. Will it blend? I have my doubts.
